You need to arrange the key documents, apart from routine travel and educational documents two main documents are required viz.,
English language proficiency test results [IELTS]
Skill assessment report by a relevant assessing authority.
Choose appropriate visa:
There are various categories of permanent visas in Australia. There you need to choose a one category that will be appropriate and meet your requirements.
Select an occupation from MLTSSL (Medium and Long Term Strategic Skills List):
There is a skill occupation list from which you need to select an occupation once your particular visa is chosen. Even in this if you are selecting a non-sponsored visa which is a subclass 189 visa then you need to choose the occupation from the MLTSSL of Australia, whereas if you choose a sponsored visa i.e., subclass 190 visa you need to choose the MLTSSL from that particular Australian state.
Apply in point based system:
Once all the above requirements are met its time to apply in the point based system. You need to submit expression of interest [EOI] in the online skill select system of Australia mentioning key profile details e.g., language ability, age, education, work experience etc. points will be allotted for each of your profile factor. A collective score of 65 points are needed to apply through the system. The more the points the more are the chances to boost your chances to apply visa.
Health and Character requirement:
There would a requirement of providing certificates that should prove your medical fitness and character verification process.
