Tuition Fees in Austrian Universities

In Austria, you can enroll in any one of the Public or private Universities, Institutes and Universities of Applied Sciences.

Education Fees in Public Universities

  • EU-Students: Free of charge. Students just have to pay student union & student insurance of 18 EUR per semester.
  • Non-EU Students: 1450 EUR Per Year

Exceptions

The prices for the tuition fees for study programs in the University of Vienna at postgraduate level (Master & PhD courses), that includes the law or international relations, to all international students irrespective of their nationality.

And, some Universities decide on their own if they charge tuition fees.

Universities of Applied Sciences in Austria decide on their own if they charge tuition fees. Presently, 17 out of 20 of these Universities need EU students to pay a tuition fees of around 363 EUR per semester. The charge for the student union and student insurance is included as well.

Scholarships & Funding Opportunities for Students in Austria

In Austria, International students are given various grants and scholarships by different Austrian organizations & Universities.

Students are provided education grants in different areas of study by the Federal Aid for Students. And, the price of the grants offered can be in between 475 – 679 EUR per month.

The Scholarship Foundation of the Republic of Austria also offer other scholarships. In addition to this, the Austrian Government grants a monthly scholarship installment of 940 EUR and sometimes even covers the accommodation cost for students who live in residence halls.
